WebJul 7, 2011 · To the OP. You obviously haven't drilled the holes in the brickwork deep enogh to accomodate the screw. The screws you were using are 125mm long and the timber is 50mm thickm therefore you have to drill into the brick at least 80mm. You'd have been better off using 100mm length screws and drilling around 60mm into the brickwork.
