If you have any issues with advanced assets failing to load in a fan-made campaign, just go to the campaign's folder in the Freespace 2 directory and open its mod.ini with a text editor, and on the line "secondarylist" add "mediavps_2014"

Back then, 640*480 was stunningly high resolution and not many games developers even thought of having a variable resolution as it would mean having to redo their artwork, etc. so a resolution of 640*480 is hardcoded.
